Refund Policy

Summary
All Varia Genomic Brief unlocks are final, with a narrow exception for technical failure. Because the unlock grants immediate access to both the interactive dashboard and the downloadable Brief (PDF and HTML), refunds are not available for change-of-mind reasons once the unlock has been delivered. We will refund or replace unlocks where the Brief failed to deliver, was corrupted, was missing content, or where dashboard access did not function after a completed purchase.
The general rule
All unlocks of the Varia Genomic Brief are final.
Your $29 unlock (or $12 Early Adopter unlock) grants two things at the moment of purchase: persistent access to the full interactive Varia dashboard for your scan (all 49 variants across 12 domains with significance tiers, citations, and the Medication Response view), and a downloadable Varia Genomic Brief in PDF and HTML formats with Consumer and Physician sections. Once these are delivered to you, the value of the purchase has been transferred. The free scan and free existence-only preview remain available without payment for any user who has not yet unlocked.
For this reason, refunds are not available for circumstances such as:
- Finding that the Brief did not contain what you expected
- Finding that the dashboard did not contain what you expected after unlock
- Changing your mind after purchase
- No longer wanting the Brief
- Running a fresh scan after a database update and wanting a refund on a prior unlock
The technical-failure exception
If you experienced a technical failure with your purchase, contact us within 30 days and we will issue a replacement, a refund, or both at our discretion. Technical failures that qualify include:
- Your PDF was not delivered to your browser or email after a completed purchase
- Your PDF was corrupted, truncated, or unreadable
- Your PDF was missing content that should have been present given your scan results
- Your purchase was charged but the PDF generation flow did not complete
To report a technical failure, contact support@variagenome.com with the email address used for the purchase, the date of purchase, the product purchased, and a description of the issue. We respond to refund requests within 5 business days.
Early Adopter status
Early Adopter status, once conferred at the $12 founding rate among the first 100 unlocks, is preserved regardless of whether a specific unlock is refunded. If you exercise the technical-failure exception and receive a refund, your Early Adopter status and $12 pricing on future unlocks are unaffected.
After the founding cap fills, new unlocks are $29 one-time. Anyone who unlocked at the $12 founding rate among the first 100 keeps $12 on future unlocks.
Chargebacks
If you have a billing concern, contact support@variagenome.com first. Most issues can be resolved directly without involving your card issuer. If you initiate a chargeback through your bank without first contacting us, we may suspend your Early Adopter status and decline future service pending resolution. Stripe and your card issuer are not the appropriate first contact for Varia purchase issues; Varia is.
